Hannah Arendt (Συγγραφέας)
Εβραϊκής καταγωγής, γεννήθηκε στο Αννόβερο το 1906 και πέθανε στις Ην. Πολιτείες το 1976. Σπούδασε φιλοσοφία, θεολογία και αρχαιοελληνική φιλολογία και έκανε τη διατριβή της στην Χαϊδελβέργη, κοντά στον K. Jaspers (1928). Με την άνοδο των Ναζί στην εξουσία έφυγε από την Γερμανία, για να εγκατασταθεί τελικά στη Ν. Υόρκη (1941). Από το 1963 δίδαξε ως καθηγητής στο Παν/μιο του Σικάγου και από το 1968 στο New School for Social Research. Σημαντικά έργα της: "The origins of totalitarianism" (1951), "On revolution" (1963), "Eichmanin in Jerusalem" (1964), κ.ά.
